30MW Gas Turbine Compressor Unit Striding Towards Industrialization

       On December 6, Mr. Yao Hongwei, Vice general manager of HTC, on behave of HTC, signed “Contract for Field Industrialized Tentative Use of 30MW Gas Turbine Compressor Unit” with CNPC Material Company, PetroChina West-East Gas Pipeline Company and CSIC Institute No.703 in Shenyang. It indicated HTC’s gas turbine compressor unit made a critical step towards industrialization. Mr. Yang Qiguo, President and General Manager, presented and witnessed this historical moment.

       Mr. Yao Qingwen, Vice Chief Engineer and Director and Gas Turbine Compressor Workshop also presented at this ceremony. He said, Shenyang Blower Works, CSIC Institute No.703 and valve manufacture units reported the research and trial production status of 20MW motor-driven compressor and 30MW gas turbine-driven compressor. All parties unanimously considered the localization of key equipments for long transmission pipeline of natural gas can both safeguard the state energy construction and facilitate to improve the overall level of equipment manufacture industry in China. He also introduced the research and manufacture status of 30MW gas turbine compressor unit. He pointed out, HTC formally began to research on and manufacture 30MW gas turbine for long transmission pipeline of natural gas and it is expected to complete the machining of all parts and components in February, 2012 and complete general assembly of the unit in June. To timely perform this important mission with high quality, Gas Turbine Compressor Workshop and Quality Management Office jointly worked out quality assurance system to improve the overall manufacture level of gas turbine compressor unit by incorporating field management and quality management, and consequently fished out appropriate process and quality management mode for manufacture of high-quality 30MW gas turbine. To ensure the manufacture and general assembly quality of gas turbine compressor unit, HTC required all technical persons related to the unit shall be innovative and considerate during each activity; all the operators participating in manufacture and general assembly of the unit shall be honest, strictly in compliance with process flow; the first piece and new process shall be qualified; and all-process record shall be made for the production and general assembly of all parts and components.

 

       At the ceremony, the State Energy Bureau honored 18 technical pioneers who made prominent contributions to the localization of long transmission pipeline. Mr. Yao Hongwei won such honors and he expressed, it is not the honor for myself, but the recognition to the efforts and achievements of HTC staff during research and manufacture of gas turbine compressor unit. 30MW gas turbine is the most difficult item in equipment localization of long transmission pipeline and acts as “heart” of the pipeline. Before, only GE (USA), R.R (U.K.) and Siemens (Germany) can design, manufacture and assemble 30MW gas turbine, while our country relied on import for long time. As an independent manufacturer of 30MW gas turbine compressor unit, all the staff of HTC must cherish this had-won opportunity to create “China Heart” of long transmission pipeline equipments for natural gas with our devotion and passions by means of innovation, respect to science, strict process and normalized operation, consequently make due contributions to the advancement of “the Twelfth Five-Year Plan” of HTC and the realization of industrial structure regulation as well as the exploitation of new economic growth ways.

       Mr. Yang Qiguo said, the execution of contract between HTC and PetroChina again showed HTC is a liable and responsible enterprise, a capable and progressive enterprise. Gas turbine compressor unit is characterized by precision manufacture, strict requirements and significant influence. Therefore, during the production and manufacture, we should scientifically organize, strictly follow the process flow, strengthen, promote the quality and produce the first and sequent gas turbine compressor as elite products, make the gas turbine compressor unit not only the “China Heart” of long transmission pipeline for natural gas of China, but also the “good showing” in the future development of HTC.
